April Christmas Card Challenge at SCS

I finally completed my April Christmas cards.  I have commited to making six Christmas cards every month.  So far I have done it.  This month with only three hours to spare!  Both card have images from Bugaboo which I layered.

Freedom

I throughly enjoyed making this card.  The eagle digi was from Doodle Pantry and the flag was from Clear Dollar Stamps.  I have been practicing layering images today.  I think I finally have it down.  I colored this card with Copics.  When I first started out I made another card along this line.  I like this one much better.  This one is not being entered in any challenges, it's just for me.

Copics: B24, C1, E11, E13, E15, E17, E18, E35, E97, E99

Pink Roses

This is my entry for Digi Doodle Shop's Challenge #56 Anything Goes.  I absolutely love this rose digi.  I've been quite in the mood lately for feminine cards.  I colored it with copics and used my new Shapeablilties die.  I used my favorite paper  to color on with Copics, Neenah Classic Crest.  Please stop by Digi Doodle Shop and check out their digis.  They have an amazing selection.  The closeup shows the rose coloring a little better.

Fairy Flower

I have been so swamped for time this past week!  I am testing coordinator for our school and we just got done with our state testing.  It's kept me really busy so I haven't been able to create very much.  Everything should be back to normal now.

This is my DT card for Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge #55 Glitter & Glitz.  I just bought the paper pack and really love it.  It's from K & Company.  The punch is from Martha Stewart.  She is colored with copics and has glitter and crystals added to her wings.  I must admit glitter is a tough one for me.  I'm avoiding posting a close-up on this one.  You can't see it when you look at the actual card, but in the close up there is some bleeding from the Copics and I do hate "coloring outside the lines." When I was a child my favorite thing to do was color in my coloring books, but anytime I would accidently color outside the line I would tear the page out of the book so I would not have any mistakes in it.  A little OCD, I think!  I still love coloring, though.  I've accepted the fact that nobody is perfect and that's okay.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I wish I knew where it came from;  I'd definitely buy more.  The technique I used to do the aqua on the background I learned from a tutorial by Dana.  I've been practicing and I really enjoy it.  Here's the link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN1_SM0J9_M

Stanley Makes Me Smile

This is my first creation as a DT member for Digi Doodle Shop's Best.  I'm so excited to have been chosen.  There are so many digis that I just can't wait to try out.  The challenge this week is to make a card using stripes.

Isn't he the most darling little pup.  I just had to smile when I first saw him.  He's from Digi Doodle Shop.  I got the "Smile" ticket as a freebie online.  I need to start keeping track of where my freebies come from so I can give proper credit.  If you recognize it, Thanks!  I printed off some photos of basset hounds online to get an idea of how to color him.  He is colored with copics and I sponged the edges with Colorbox chalk ink.  The paper is from October Afternoon's Roadmap Collection.  Everything else is from my stash.  The inside reads "You make my world a happier place."  Hope you like him.  Stop over at Digi Doodle Shop's Best and become a follower.  You'll be able to participate in lots of fun challenges!  Hope to see you there.

Hummingbird

With the exception of a little food shopping, I've been crafting all day.  I should be doing laundry and cleaning.  But, I have my priorities after all!  Tomorrow is another day.  This image is from Digi Doodle Shop.  I tried to make the hummingbird look iridescent.  I had gotten a box of Pearl Ex (Stampin' Up) in a lot of crafting supplies I bought from Ebay.  I really had no idea how to use it.  I applied it with a paintbrush.  The photograph does not show the iridescence very well.  This card is a "Thinking of You" card for ChemoAngels.

I have entered this in three challenges:
2 Sisters Challenge:  Spring
Sundays with Crissy:  Spring is in the Air
Simon Says Stamp:  Spring
Seems everyone has spring on their minds.  Too bad here in Arizona we're in the middle of a snowstorm.  Who would have thought?

The next photo shows the iridescence a little better.

Birthday Fairy

I woke up this morning feeling like making a real girly card.  This fit the bill perfectly!  The image is from Karen's Doodles.  She's colored with copics.  The paper is from Stampin' Up.  I used my new die from Dienamics.  First time I saw it I just had to buy it,  I trimmed the edge of the paper to match the shape of the die.  I'm entering this in Karen's Doodles Challenge Fancy and Feminine.  I also entered this in Really Reasonable Ribbon's challenge #21 to use a die or punch and ribbon.  Here is a link to their website:  http://reasonableribbon.blogspot.com/search/label/challenges

I used glitter on her flowers and wings.  I don't really care for the way it looks with the glitter, but, oh well, it's done now.  Can't change it.  I need to learn how to apply it better.  She's still a cutie, though!  Now I just need to find a little girl to give it to.

Exciting News!

I have been  waiting to announce this all week.  I was selected to be on the Design Team for Digi Doodle Shop's Best.  I'm so excited.  This will be my first time on a design team.  I love using their images.  If you follow my  site you have probably seen me work with quite a few of them.  There's a link on my sidebar, please stop by and visit  Digi Doodle Shop.  There are some really amazing digis there and the prices are very reasonable.  I have quite a wish list made up already!
Digi Doodle Shop's Best runs a challenge every Thursday.  Next Thursday, the 14th will be my first entry as a DT member.  Hope to see you there!

Happy Birthday, Katie!

I made this card for my daughter, Katie's, twenty-seventh birthday.  The image is from Digi Doodle Shop.  I colored it with Copics.  I had a near disaster in making this card.  As I was coloring with one of the green markers a very large blob of ink flowed onto the paper.  I was so upset.  I had already completed most of the flowers when it happened.  It took a very long time, but I was able to get most of the ink off.  Has this happened to anyone else?  I was about to give up and throw it away.  I'm glad now that I didn't.  I'm entering this in Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge #53 Happy Birthday.

Cowboys Don't Take Baths

I absolutely adore this image from Mo's Digital Pencil.  Cute little rascal.  I can't recall where I got the sentiment, but I saw that first and then found the image.  I just couldn't resist putting the two together.  I tried to put alot of "dirt" on his knees, elbows and cheek with pastels.  I was hoping it would show.  It actually shows alot better in real life.  Still need to work on photographing!  Hope you like him.
