Outlawz March Challenges

The first two cards use images from Fabrika Fantasy's Digi Club.  They are both colored with pencils.  The image below I was somewhat disappointed with.  The left eye is positioned incorrectly and I didn't notice until it was almost done. They were for the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge for the month of March.

The following two images are from All Dressed Up.  They were for the Outlawz Festive Friday Challenges during the month of March.

Beautiful Girl

This is another image from my coloring book set by Emannuelle Colin.  I just found out they printed a fifth coloring book and yes, I ordered it!  I colored this image with my latest gift from Uncle Sam.  I bought a set of Caran de Ache Luminance pencils.  This is the last set I am buying...ever in my life.  Three of my four pencil sets have replaceable pencils so they will last forever.  I used the new pencils,  odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump to color this.  I am surprised by how smooth the color appears.  I still need to work on skin of color.  This is my best attempt so far.  I would still like it to be just a tad darker.  I'll figure it out.  Time to You Tube it.  The more I look at this I feel like I want to add some darker areas to the face to shape it more.  Project for another day!  I hope I don't destroy it.

Dirty-Faced Girl Completed

I can't figure out why the rose on the left appears to be a different color than the other two...same pencils.  I guess I applied the color differently. Or it could be the lighting.  I'm still waiting for my Copic refills to finish the Copic one I started.  This was done in all pencil.

The Outlawz Monday Sentiments Challenge

The sponsor for this week's challenge is My Besties.  I chose this cute little girl.  I colored her with Copic markers and pencils.I think this is the first tri-fold card I have made.  The paper is from my stash.

Dirty-Faced Girl

I ran out of Copic ink for one of the pictures I was working on so I decided to do an all pencil one while I was waiting for the ink to arrive.  The pencil only are quite difficult.  I feel like the face looks dirty after I finished it.  I tried to correct it, but finally decided to leave it alone or risk destroying it.  I figured I would focus more on the flowers.  Boy do they take time.  I spent two hours coloring the one on the left.  I watched a video about coloring and blending pencils.  It said to put on four to five layers of color.  I have not been doing that at all.    I also used a Derwent blending pencil for the blending.  It works fairly well, but takes a lot of effort.  I did this with a combination of Prismacolor and Polychromos.  I definitely like the Polychromos better, but the set size is only half that of the Prismacolors.  I am really tempted to buy one more pencil set with Uncle Sam's donation to my crafting fund.  We'll see.  Time to rest.  I got my second Covid shot on Friday and had a fever and chills all day yesterday along with sleeping most of the time.  Today I woke up without a fever, luckily.

Spider...aaagh!

I am having so much fun with these images!  I messed up the skin again.  I meant for it to be much paler.  I colored part of it in the correct shade then to finish it picked up the wrong marker, a darker one.  I had to go over the whole thing with the darker one.  Oh well, next time!  I always have my husband look at my work when it's done.  He critiques it for me so I can make changes, if necessary.  He doesn't understand these pictures at all.  He just thinks they are weird.  They are, but I love images that are a little weird.  I usually have so much difficulty with images that I have to use for DT work.   The trend to put heads that are too large in comparison to the body  or unusually large eyes.  That drive me crazy.  I definitely like reality.  I still have no idea what I will do with these.  It's into a folder for now.  I colored this with Copic markers, Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils.

Flower Girl with Beetle

This is the second image I colored from my coloring books by Emmanuelle Colin.  They are available on Amazon (look for Avenue Mandarine Collectors Coloring Book..  My husband got them all for me for Christmas.  I didn't think I would be able to use Copics on this paper.  Surprisingly they worked very well.  I was starting to have a problem coloring her cheek.  I decided to stop and leave it alone.  I know what happens when I try to fix something.  It is usually disastrous!  I got all my DT cards for March done so I plan on having some fun the rest of the month.  I haven't decided what I am going to do with it yet.  I took the first photo in daylight and the second around dinner time with the same lighting in the room.  I like the daylight one much better.

I am going to enter this in the following challenges:

Though she BEE little, she BEE fierce

This is the image for the Outlawz Freebie Progressive Challenge for the month of March.  The image was provided by Paper Nest Dolls.  I colored her with Polychromos pencils.  The flowers I have had in my stash for about ten years.  The sentiment and the honeycomb background is from Silhouette.  I am still trying to learn how to use my Cameo 4.    If it were not for You Tube, I would not be able to do anything! How did we survive before You Tube?

Geisha

It's time for The Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge. The theme this week is "Make it Feminine."  The sponsor for this challenge is Star Stampz.  I colored the image with pencils.
