For Marcheta

I made this card for a friend's birthday.  The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I have used this one a couple of times.  I just love her!  I just realized I forgot to put on the mini sewing scissors I meant to put on it.  Oh well, next time.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  The paper is from my stash.

How Much is that Doggie in the Window

I made this card for Sunday Songs and Rhymes at The Outlawz Challenge.  I have no idea why, but it just sounded amusing to me and I wanted to start playing with my new Silhouette.  The image is by Morgan Fitzsimons.  I have used it a few times, but never in a pet store window. I colored the bassett hound with Copics.  I'm giving my pencils a bit of a rest.

Seahorse

This week's challenge at The Outlawz Monday Greetings is Yellow Monochrome.  I am just awful at monochrome cards, but did the best I could.  This week's sponsor is Fabrika Fantasy.
I chose this pre-colored seahorse.  The papers are from Stampin' Up.
I got that weird looking something or other from Hobby Lobby.

Armor of God

I had never heard of the Armor of God even though I grew up going to churches of various religions because I was a foster child. I saw this image many months ago and was very intrigued by it. I didn't know anything about it, but I thought it was something that I would like to color. Lucas and Ethan's first week of school was on Zoom. They did their classes at my house. On the very first day the PE teacher was explaining about the Armor of God and explaining each piece of armor. I was sitting with Ethan since it was his first day of kindergarten. I found the lesson to be very interesting and remembered that I had this image. Well, now it is on a card. I have ordered an image with a male so that I can make something for Ethan and Lucas to hang in their rooms..

The image is from Cute as a Button Digital Stamps.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  The paper is an absolutely wonderful crushed red paper from Hobby Lobby.  I will definitely be getting more!

Copics:  110, B21, 24, BV31, C00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 6, E00, 11, 31, 34, 35,

Cleaned My Craft Area...Finally!

I made this to decorate my craft desk.  Boy, does this speak volumes!  The image is from Bugaboo.  I used to have a mug with that sentiment when I was working.  On the side of the mug that faced me it said the complete sentiment.  On the other side there were asterisks instead of the obvious naughty word.  Since I worked in a school.  I could not have that on my desk.

After all the kids moved out we no longer needed a living room and a family room so the living room became my craft room.  My husband built me a huge craft desk many years ago. Since then I have added quite a few additional hobbies and mountains of supplies. My desk has been a disaster for years.  I finally couldn't stand it anymore and had to reorganize it.  I bought a cart that sits next to my desk to hold all the little junk and things that I use daily that were formerly on my desktop.  The desk is actually supported by four bookcases and has eighteen drawers for paper storage and eighteen drawers for miscellaneous supplies like ribbons, pearls, etc.  There are nine drawers for pastels, paints, tapes, glue dots, and tons of other supplies.  Needless to say I should probably get rid of half of it, but I guess I'm a hoarder.  I think I may try to get rid of a few things each week that I know I will never use again.  I also keep all my quilting rulers on this desk.  The rest of my quilting supplies are on the other side of the room.  That's another mess to tackle someday.  Part of the underneath of the desk is curtained off to hide all the other junk that I prefer people don't see.

I actually have a three foot by two foot work area now!  There was almost no room before.  Alexa (dressed in red) keeps me company while I work.  It's so nice.  She can either play music for me or read my latest Audible book.

Tom built me my Copic marker storage.  I never did get around to painting it.  Just today he built me a special rack to hold my ever growing supply of washi tape rolls.

The desk is in desperate need of a new paint job.  Someday soon. I keep all my quilting rulers and Silhouette mats here, but the Silhouette has been moved to the other side the room where it is closer to my desktop computer.  My laptop couldn't seem to handle the Silhouette program very well.

This is definitely a case of hobbies that have gotten out of control.  The room also includes my desk and treadmill.  Unfortunately, the treadmill is used less that anything else in the room.  Oh, and I almost forgot, it also has my piano.  The kids know this as Grandma's playroom.  Oh, it's not just me, Grandpa also has a playroom.  His is called the guitar room.

Butterfly Baby

This image is by Connie Fong.  She is absolutely precious.  I colored her with Prismacolor pencils.  This is one of my latest dies.  It did not cut well.  I had to keep putting the image back in trying to get it to cut with different thicknesses of extra paper.  My metal die sheet was too thick to use with it.

This week's challenge at The Outlawz Tuesday Color is sponsored by Gerda Steiner.  I chose this cute kitten with balloons.  I colored the image with Copic markers.

The challenge is to use the following image as an inspiration.

Hippopotamus for Christmas

This card is for the Outlawz Festive Friday challenge under the category of Christmas.  There are usually four categories to pick from so it makes it a fun challenge.  The sponsor this time is Beccy's Place.  Many of her images come as pre-colored or the standard digi.  I chose this cute hippo.  My niece loves hippos so I thought this would be a great card for her.  I chose the pre-colored hippo.  I added green marker to draw the wires for the lights.  Then I stamped many images of lights on scrap paper. colred them, cut them out and glued them on.  The sentiment is also from Beccy's.  I felt that I printed the sentiment too large.  After photographing, I printed it smaller and took the larger one off.  The dies are from Spellbinder's Amazing Paper Grace collection.

Forest Princess

It is the most difficult thing to name my cards.  I never have any idea what name to use.  This image is from Mariols Budek on Etsy.  After my last  image in pencil I have been dying to try coloring braided hair.  I used Prismacolor pencils to color this image.  I am having the time of my life with this type of coloring.  I must admit, I had no clue what kind of bird this was or how to color it so I did look at  images on Pinterest and found one colored by Joyce Christian Ferrone.   My bird is very similar to hers, but mine is a bit darker.  I thought it only fair that I give her credit for the bird.

I designed this card for The Outlawz Crash Your Stash Challenge for Sept-Oct.   The challenge this time is to use old paper or silk flowers out of your stash.  You cannot purchase anything to use for the challenge.  Everything must be from your stash.  One great surprise from my stash was the gold corners.  I don't even remember buying them.  I needed something for the corners so I decided to look through my trinkets and there they were.  I love them!

For Margaret

I made this card for a dear friend whose little fur baby, Cisco, has passed over the rainbow bridge.  I have had this image for what seems like forever and never had a need to use it.  The image is from Just Inklined.  I colored it with Prismacolor pencils.   The paper is from Stampin' Up.

Beautiful Red Head

This week's challenge at The Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge is Sewing, fake or not.
Our sponsor for September is Fabrika Fantasy.  I chose this beautiful image.  I colored her with pencils using mineral spirits for blending.  It took so long to color her, about five hours, but I am really pleased with the finished product.  When I first got a close look at the image I just thought there is no way I can color this.  I remembered past coloring of very detailed images and I used Prismacolor pencils.  I really have started enjoying my pencils.  This image somewhat reminds me of my daughter-in-law, Karena, even down to the hair color.  The only thing I would change is the color of the peonies.  They blend in too well with her hair.  Coloring is definitely a learning process.

Girl with Hat

This is my fifth post today.  I'm on a roll.  I've been making cards out of images that I have colored over the past few years.  This image is by Mo's Digital Pencil.  I colored the images with Copics.  The paper is from my stash.  These roses are my very favorite.  I wish I could remember where I got them from.  They are made of foam and I much prefer them to the paper flowers.

Butterfly Lady

I recently colored this image, but am not that pleased with it.  I have colored it once previously and loved how it turned out.  I plan on coloring it in a different color palette. This image is by Morgan Fitzsimons.  I colored this with Prismacolor pencils.  I also had a problem with the glittler clumping a little.   Next time I'm going back to Copics.    She is by far one of my favorite images by Fitzsimons.  The sentiment is from Spellbinder's Glimmer system.
