Christmas Card Challenge Fenruary 2022

Here are my entries for the February  Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  Thhe theme for February is candles.  This image is by Lily of the Valley.  I colored it with pencils.  I made the poinsettias with Spellbinder's Glimmer System.

I used an image from Sheepski Designs for this card.  It is colored with pencils.

I used pencils and pastels for this card.  This image is also by Lily of the Valley.

Magical Mermaid

A new challenge starts today at Morgan's Art World Challenge Blog.  I chose the image Magical Mermaid.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils, which reminded me of why I stopped using the.  They do have the best color range around for pencils.   I believe I have 150 with the newest colors added.  Their downfall is how easily they break when sharpening.  Almost every time I sharpen one the point falls out.  I like to have my pencils very sharp to work with and I have such a difficult time getting them sharp without breaking.  Two of my other three sets hold a point extremely well, but have no where near the color range.  I also used a white pen marker to color in the white on the waves and the beads or flowers (whatever they are) on her headpiece.  This was my first try at coloring water.  I think I will give it another try soon.  They netting I found at Hobby Lobby a few tears ago.  It seems to go well with mermaid pictures.
