Girl with Lion

This has been my latest coloring adventure.  The image is by Emanuelle Colin.  I got four coloring books of hers for Christmas.  I actually printed this one on cardstock because the paper it was on was not good for Copics.  I also cut it down quite a bit because I wanted to put it on the front of a card.   I don't know why.  I don't plan on giving it away.  I used Copics,  Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils.  It took me about eight to ten hours, I believe.  I started it right after Christmas, but it was so difficult that I stopped working on it frequently.  I finally decided to finish it in the past two days.  I plan on making a lot more of her images, but they will be full size.  They are printed on a high quality paper, but I would only use pencils on it.  It could be watercolored, but I don't know how to do that.

Update:  I did just see some pictures from this artist done in Copics.  I would assume they are on original paper, I'm not sure.  I may give it a try.  I really prefer Copics and pencils together and not just pencils.

Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge

The sponsor for this challenge is Polkadoodles.   You must use at least three of the provided colors.  My shade on the teal is off, I used a much lighter shade.  The twist is to add a doily.

The image is colored with Copic markers.  The greeting is by Lily of the Valley.

Trees by Joyce Kilmer

 This card is made for a Guest Designer spot with The Outlawz Sunday Songs &  Rhymes.  The sponsor for this challenge is Wink Wink Ink.  I merged the tree image with the girl and robin.  Both images are from the sponsor.  I used Polychromos pencils and Copics to color the images.   The paper is from Stampin' Up.  Here is the poem we are supposed to use for inspiration.

         Trees

By Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Saint Patrick's Day

The sponsor this month for Festive Fridays at The Outlawz is Jan's Digi Stamps. This is the first time in my life I actually wanted to make a St. Patrick's Day card.  I always was told I was Italian because my mom was once married to an Italian.  I never quite believed her story because my hair was light blonde and my skin is pale.  So, after I turned sixty I had a DNA test.  To my surprise I'm 50% Irish!  I am 0% Italian and the other 50% is pretty much made up of Scandinavian countries.  I have found probably fifty relatives from Finland.  Some I have actually had conversations with.  They were searching for relatives that had gone to the US in the forties and entered through Ellis Island.  I actually knew they had changed their name when they got here so he was finally able to trace them..

 I colored this image with Copic markers.  I made a big error, but tried to correct it.I colored the slots in on the horseshoe.  When I went to photograph it I realized that the nails go there so they have to be an open space.  A white pen and a black ballpoint seemed to correct it fairly well.

Snow White Birthday Card

This card is for the Monday Greetings Challenge at The Outlawz.  The image is from Moonflower on Etsy.  I was supposed to use vintage paper...oops!  This took a couple hours and I really was not in the mood to take it all apart.  The paper might be considered vintage if it were not for the shine.  Anyways, the paper is from Stampin' Up.  I colored the image with Copics and Prismacolors.

Valentine card for my Husband.

I hope I don't offend anyone too much.  I used to make my husband this kind of card  all the time.  Then came cancer, a knee replacement, three collapsed vertebrae and COVID.  I have not been in the mood for several years to make this type of card.. Even when I was working people used to pay me to make cards for them that look like them as far as hair and eye color. My husband is so wonderful and takes care of me through all my adventures.  I just thought it would be nice to give him one again.

The designer is KennyK.  He is no longer in business, but I have collected quite a few. I colored the image with Copics.  I used a Spellbinder's die and sentiment.  Needless to say this type if card does not go in challenges.

Sweet Ladybug

 This image is by Mo's Digital Pencil.  I thought she was quite adorable.  I colored her with Copic markers and pencils.  I added Stickles to the ruffle on her shirt.  I usually don't add flowers anymore, but she seemed to call for them.  The sentiment is from a poem on The Outlawz Sunday Songs and Rhymes challenge.

" Let me be light as a feather and give me wings so I can take flight-

to a land ladybugs filled with much delight."

I colored the image with Copic markers.  The paper is from Stampin' Up.

Spring Birthday

This card if for Festive Friday Challenge at The Outlawz.  The sponsor this time is Jan's Digi Shop.  I chose an image from the set Showers of Tulips.  I planned on using a sentiment from the set.  When I put it on it just took up too much space on the doily so I opted for a simple "Birthday Wishes" done with the Glimmer System from Spellbinders.  The doily is from Stampin' Up.  I just love it.  It stamps so well.  I used a a masking pen to cover the tulips after I colored them.  Then I stamped the doily and erased the masking medium.  It was very easy.  I don't know why I didn't try it years ago.

Outlawz Challenges 2/1/21

 The Outlawz Monday Greetings challenge is sponsored by Lee Holland.  I chose this cute deer.  The paper is from Stampin' Up.  The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I cut out the leaves from the Silhouette Cameo 4.  That was an exercise in frustration.  I bought it about a year ago and really don't know how to use it.  Th user manual is useless.  Thanks goodness for You Tube.  I still don't have it down, but I found a series of classes that I will watch.

All Dressed Up is the sponsor for the February Progressive Freebie challenge at The Outlawz.  This image is provided to anyone that wants to enter.  Once you enter you will be emailed the image for the next month's challenge once it becomes available.  I colored this image with Polychromos pencils.  Thr paper is from Stampin' Up.  I have a ton of charms that I have almost never used because of the ring on them.  I realized last night that I can twist the ring off with pliers.  Very convention!  Now I can ise them.
