Christmas Tree

Okay, this really gave me a workout.  It took about two and a half hours to color.  I was pretty much done coloring and was doing some embellishments such as Stickles on the ornaments.  I decided that the cranberries on the garland night look good with small dots of liquid pearls to give them dimension.  Not!!!  Up near the star I started with the liquid pearls.  The dots were coming out too large and just didn't look good.  I very carefully tried to wipe off the two dots I had done.  What I got was a large red smear.  Nothing would take it off.  I was just going to tear the card in half and put it in the circular file.  I decided instead to cut out a larger star than what had been on the tree.  I Stickled it up and put it on a pop dot.  Fortunately, it covered my red smear very well.  the card actually looks much better in real life, when you can see all the glitter.  That was my adventure in card making this week.

I almost forgot!!! This is mt DT entry for Digi Doodle Shop's Challenge this week.  It's red and green.  So everyone get something Christmasy going and play along.

  1. Diane, Bless your heart. Listen sweetie, your hard work in this card are very obvious. I absolutely, positively LOVE IT! The coloring quality goes without saying, but what really caught my eye is the way you layered the tree. What a unique idea, and it really gave the card that "IT factor" Beautiful, beautiful job hun. I'm very proud of you!

  11. Stunning traditional card. I had my eye on the tree, so glad to see you chose it and brought it to life. My DH always tells me I don't know when to quit. I color something to my satisfaction and then get the bright idea to add something and poof, I have made a mess. So glad you were able to cover your red smear. This card is way to pretty to be in the circular file. Hugs, Linda

  12. This does look like it took a very long time to color. It's always that last touch of something that gets me. I just don't know when to quit. But lucky for you to have a plan B and it turned out gorgeous. And you tie a mean bow.
