Emily with Roses

This image is from NinoKurtsART on Etsy.  She is colored with Copics and a variety of pencils.  I want to practice making a background on this with pastels.  I think I will photocopy it so I don't mess up the original.  I intentionally ma=de her skin pale.  I usually have quite a bit of color in the skin, but I wanted to try something different.  So Tom's opinion is that she looks dead.  Some people are very pale, it happens. Part of it is that I colored it very light plus the photography was not done well, my fault.  I asked Tom what I should name this image.  He picked Emily, and so it is.

I will update the photos if I ever get the background done.  I am seriously delinquent in my Design Team duties.  I am not handling life well  at all right now.

  4. Absolutely gorgeous, Diane! I love your coloring. Sounds like you have DT burn-out. It happens. Just take things one day at a time, and if your love of crafting comes back, fine; if not, fine. Just do what makes you happy! Sending hugs!

  5. First off, yes, some of us are that pale! Secondly, this is not your fault at all, but I think she was drawn with dead eyes, that's what I thought of when I read Tom's comment, not the skin. Yes, please, save me from a heart attack and work on a copy, lol. Your coloring is fabulous as always. So sorry you are not yourself. The pain can do that to a person so easily. I read that lots of people are "languishing" - like in a time bubble because of the pandemic and what we've gotten used to. I'm definitely one of those. I truly think I've forgotten how to get dressed to go out in public! And I have friends who have been out all this time and they are chomping at the bit for return to normalcy and are beginning to realize there will be no such thing. It's a mental challenge to just exist right now. XOX

  6. Diane, your coloring is gorgeous, as always. I don't think she looks dead at all, she has attitude. Her glazed over eyes are saying "Really, you have got to be kidding me!!"
I had DT burnout last year and resigned from all my teams. While a tough decision, it has been liberating. Hope you feel better soon.
