Bahama Woodstar

This card took quite a bit of research before I could color it.  The image is from Sparkle 'n Sprinkle.  The bird, it turns out is a Bahama Woodstar.  It's a hummingbird that is only seen in the Bahamas.  I had a more difficult time figuring out what the plant is.  I believe it is a orchid tree flower and they do have those in the Bahamas. So chances are that's probably correct.  I used a Spellbinder's die to cut out the image and distressed the edges.  The butterflies are from Cheery Lynn.  I finally figured out how to make my dies work better.  I'm sure everyone else already knows this, but I cut some wax paper with the dies and no more sticking!

  8. How did I miss this earlier? I just noticed it this morning & had to let you know how gorgeous it is! I love the way you research your animals (or birds) and make them all so lifelike you expect them to step off the card & come to life. Your coloring was awesome (as always) & I love the distressing around it all.
