Spring Blosson

 This image is Spring Blossom by Mariola Budek.  It is available on Etsy.  I colored her with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  I also did a little experimenting and added baby's breath to her wreath with a white paint pen.  I watched a You Tube video on how to color sheer clothing with Copics.  It helped a lot.  I see I didn't finish coloring her clothing on the left.  It will take about two minutes to color, but I definitely don't feel like dragging the camera out again.  Another tip I learned on a new Facebook group I joined is to photo copy your image and do experimenting on the copy (baby's breath.)  That way if It doesn't turn out right you haven't ruined your original.  Another tip was to use an eraser (with pencil) to add highlights.  It works well!

I colored this image by Mariola Budek with Copic markers and pencils.  When I was just about done I asked my husband what color I should color her corset, or whatever you call it.  He said tan.  I asked him if he was kidding and he said a light tan.  I asked him  if he meant ivory and he said yes.  The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea of tan.  I decided to go for it and I love the color choice.  It doesn't compete with her hair which I wanted to be the main focus.  Thank you dear, for not knowing your color names.  

 

 

I took this picture with a bright light on the left side.  It makes the left look more pale than the right.  It is not.

Florida Christmas

 

It's time again for Festive Friday's Challenge at The Outlawz.  I chose the category Christmas.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Jan's Digi Stamps.  I chose this seashell Christmas tree to make a card for my cousin that lives in Florida.I colored the shells with a bronze pencil.  I used bronze metallic cardstock from Stampin' Up.  The paper is also from them.  I wanted to add a ribbon, but of course, there is no bronze ribbon that I know of.  I took some gold ribbon and colored it with an E7 Copic marker.  Voila, I now have bronze ribbon.

Julia Spiri Drawing

 

This lovely drawing, Amelia, is by Julia Spiri.  I colored it with Caran 'D Ache and Polychromos pencils.  I am not happy with the skin colors available in the Caran 'D Ache.  Most have a very yellow undertone.  I colored over the skin tones with Polychromos Flesh and liked it better.  I just bought all the new Caran skin tones.  I should have saved my money.  I got this image for free from Julia's Patreon club.  So many beautiful images are available.

Birthday Bear

 

It's time for a new Monday Sentiments Challenge at The Outlawz.  I chose this adorable pre-colored image from The Paper Shelter.  The papers are from Stampin' Up as is the seam binding.  The fabulous die is from Spellbinders.  The sentiment was done with Spellbinder's Glimmer System.

 

Please excuse the poor photography on this one.  I photographed it before I went to Michigan, but didn't put it on the computer.  I didn't realize how bad the images were until after I had given the card to someone.  Too late now to correct the photography.  This was the only one that was somewhat salvageable.  This is for the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge. The focal image had to begin with the letter "C" and below is a photo of the challenge colors.

Mama Mia

 

For the month of May the free image for The Outlawz Freebie Progressive Challenge is from Dr. Digi.  The image reminds me of me...ha ha.  It looks like me when I'm making a large number of pizzas. I don't do that too often now, usually just one or two at a time.  When my kids were growing up I usually made four pizzas a week.  Now I'm teaching my grandsons  how to make their own pizzas. You should see the condition of my kitchen when they are done.  There are more pizza ingredients on the floor than on the pizzas, but it's so much fun!

Funny story from the past.  One time, about twenty five years ago, I was making pizzas and my husband noticed a strange lemon smell coming from the oven.  It turned out that I had accidentally sprayed the pizza pan with lemon Pledge instead of cooking spray.  I had been using the pledge earlier in the day and left the can on the kitchen counter.  Boy, did that ever make the pizza stick.  I had to chip the pizza crust off the pan.  Needless to say, I had to make the pizzas all over again.  At least my kids got a good laugh out of it.  That was a dinner they will never forget.  Every once in a while when I am making pizza for them now they ask me if I'm using Pledge.

I am posting this month's challenges all together in  one post because of our trip to see the new little grandson, Logan.  What a little bundle of joy he is!

All images are by LeAnn's World 101 and are colored by pemcil  I decided to use up some scraps for the background and attached strips of Christmas paper.

I really love the corrugated pink paper on this one.

Too many stripes on the flag on this one.  

I kind of wish I didn't notice all these small details, but I do.

Trumpet Flowers and Hummingbird

This image is by Emannuelle Colin.  She has a series of five coloring books available on Etsy.  All the pictures are quite different from what you might usually see available for adult coloring. They are on high quality 8 x 8 paper.  My husband does not like these images at all.  I on the other hand absolutely love them.  I used Copic markers and Caran d' Ache pencils to color this image.  I was very surprised that the markers work so well on this paper.  On to the next picture!  By the way, I am assuming these are trumpet flowers, but I really don't know.

Outlawz March Challenges

 

 

 

The first two cards use images from Fabrika Fantasy's Digi Club.  They are both colored with pencils.  The image below I was somewhat disappointed with.  The left eye is positioned incorrectly and I didn't notice until it was almost done. They were for the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge for the month of March.

Beautiful Girl

 

This is another image from my coloring book set by Emannuelle Colin.  I just found out they printed a fifth coloring book and yes, I ordered it!  I colored this image with my latest gift from Uncle Sam.  I bought a set of Caran de Ache Luminance pencils.  This is the last set I am buying...ever in my life.  Three of my four pencil sets have replaceable pencils so they will last forever.  I used the new pencils,  odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump to color this.  I am surprised by how smooth the color appears.  I still need to work on skin of color.  This is my best attempt so far.  I would still like it to be just a tad darker.  I'll figure it out.  Time to You Tube it.  The more I look at this I feel like I want to add some darker areas to the face to shape it more.  Project for another day!  I hope I don't destroy it.

Dirty-Faced Girl Completed

I can't figure out why the rose on the left appears to be a different color than the other two...same pencils.  I guess I applied the color differently. Or it could be the lighting.  I'm still waiting for my Copic refills to finish the Copic one I started.  This was done in all pencil.
