Christmas Fairy

This is my fifth Christmas card for the March CCC at Splitcoast.  This challenge is really keeping me on track to get my cards done.  I like to make every card different so making them at this pace allows me to do that.  This image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I colored her with Copics.  The dots on her dress were done with a white pen.  The snow globe is covered with Crystal Effects so it actually gave it a 3D effect.  It's not obvious in the photo, but her petticoat layers are edged with stickles.

For Baby

My daughtner needed a card for a baby shower and I thought this image would be ideal. The image is from the Simply Adorable collection by Sugar Nellie.  I've purchased quite a few of their digis and they are all beautiful. This little tike was colored with copics and I used a Martha Stewart punch for the lattice.  I can't wait to make the girl version.  I entered this in Scrap Creations Challenge Anything Goes, Creative Craft Challenges and in Digi Doodle Shop's Anything Goes.

Birthday Card for Aunt Joan

I made this card for one of my favorite aunts.  She has always been an animal lover.  She is the one in the family that always remembers every birthday and special occasion.  I saw someone use this digi on SCS.  I fell in love with it.  The digi is from Angels Landing.  The really nice thing is that they have coloring instructions.  The instructions were amazingly helpful.  I am entering this in Digi Doodle Shops Anything Goes Challenge, 2 Sisters Challenge #31 Furry Friends, Creative Craft Challenges and Scrap Creations Challenge Anything Goes.

March Christmas Card Challenge

These are the first four cards for the March Christmas Card Challenge at SCS.  The Santa and reindeer digis were both freebies.  Unfortunately, I can't recall where I got them.  They were both colored with copics.

The two quilt design cards were made following a tutorial at SCS.  I used a 3/4" punch to make the squares.  I found you need a pretty strong adhesive to hold the squares on well.  I coated my entire graph paper with double sided adhesive and then laid the shapes on.  That seemed to work relatively well.  I plan on doing quite a few different patterns for Christmas.  Two more cards to go and I'll be done with March!

February Christmas Card Challenge

These are my six cards for the February Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoast.  I'm so glad I got involved in this.  By December I'll be all done with my cards!  I tried not to add too many embellishments to these.  At Christmas there are so many cards to mail that extra postage on all of them would be a killer.

Christmas Tree

Here's what I changed:  color, stamp, sentiment, and added crystals.  It's also my last card this month for CCC11.  Twelve Christmas cards finished now!

I am also entering this in Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #8:  The White Stuff.  There's no snow, but the card is primarily white.

Off to See the Wizard

I had such a difficult time with this one!  I knew exactly what I wanted to do and no matter how I tried each attempt was worse than the previous.  I had planned on the yellow sections radiating from the top and colored like the yellow brick road.  I tried at least five times.  Each time the road looked really chintsy.  I still don't like the way the yellow panels look, but I surrender.  I also had a really difficult time with the background paper.  No matter what I tried I didn't like it.  At least this green is better then my previous attempts.  The image is colored with copics.  I absolutely love the Wizard of OZ digis.  I think I bought them all.  I cut the flowers with Make It Cut and my Cricut. I made this for Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #70 which was a sketch challenge.  I'm also entering it in Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge #57 Anything Goes.  Here is a link to their website:   http://digidoodleshopsbest.blogspot.com/ .  Also, Simon Says Challenge:  Make your own embellishment.

Red-Breasted Bird

This card was made with a digi from Delicious Doodles.  He's colored with copics and I used Crystal Effects on the berries that gave them a nice sheen.  Unfortunately, I colored him without looking up what he should look like.  So there is probably no real bird that looks quite like him, oh well!  I like him.  I'm using this as one of my February Christmas cards for Splitcoast.

You Make Me Feel Like Dancing!

This card was just fun, fun, fun to make!  The image is from Sassy Cheryl.  I am entering her in Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #50-Color Inspiration.  I'm also entering her in Sunday's With Crissy-All About Love.  This is my third entry in that challenge.  I'm at my limit.  Now I'll have to wait until March to enter again. Oh, and Bugaboo's Challenge-Anything goes. I absolutely love the colors in this card.  Pink, teal and black have become one of my favorite color combos.  I purchased the crocheted flower on Etsy.  I need to go back and find the seller again.  Her flowers are beautiful.  I really need to figure out how to do them myself.  It would save alot!

True Love Endures

I'm still not sure about this one.  I made it for Mo's challenge #69 Valentine Love with non-traditional colors.  I do love the digi.  It's the rest of the card I'm unsure of.  I do so love pretty pink, red and white Valentine's cards.  I had to laugh last night.  After I finished the card I said to my husband "this is us in"  and debated sayng thirty years.  Instead I came out with "this is us in three years."  He bettered it.  He said "This is us right now."  Yes, we are feeling our age, but we're not quite there yet.  I'm also entering this in Sundays with Crissy's February Challenge, "It's All about Love."  ...I showed someone at work my blog today.  When she saw this card she instantly said she had to buy it.  Her parents have been married for seventy years...wow!  The picture reminded her of them.  I'm making the sentiment custom for them,  I'm glad someone will get to enjoy it.  I guess I was meant to make it.

You've Got Mail

This is my first attempt at trying watercolor pencils.  It's something I think I'll start practicing with.  The stamp came from a yard sale so I have no idea who the creator is.  I really love it.  This is the first card that I have made that my husband doesn't want me to give away.  As a matter of fact he's getting interested in the hobby.  He's beginning to think about doing some artwork for me to paint.  I have never actually seen any of his artwork, with the exception of the guitars he builds, which are beautiful.  This should be quite interesting.  I got an amazing deal on the Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils.  The girls at work had given me a twenty five dolllar JoAnns gift certificate last year for my birthday.  Then I got at 50% off coupon from JoAnn's.  The pencils were originally 50.99 and between the gift certificate and the coupon I paid  49 cents.  Can't beat that deal!

Two Cards Today

I actually have two cards to post today.  The first is a card I made for Chemo Angels.  It is a digi from Paper Garden.  I love the inside saying, "When flowers bloom, so does hope."  It is ideal  for the purpose. 

The second is a birthday card for my birth mother.  This digi I've had for a long time.  It was a freebie  from someone.  Unfortunately, I can't remember who I got it from.  It was my first try at cutting outside my nestabilities.  I didn't get it perfect, but it'll do.  I do really like the paper.

Birthday Girl

I haven't colored a Sassy image in quite a while.  I had fun with this one.  Unfortunately,  the color does not show true in the picture.  The icing is actually a much brighter pink.  I'm entering this in Sassy Cheryl's Challenge "Celebrating Birthdays with a Sassy Cheryl girl."

Peace On Earth

This image is from The Digi Doodle Shop.  I had it for quite a while and was kind of intimidated to color it.  I'm pleased with the way it turned out.  I'm entering it in Craftyhazlenut's Christmas Challenge to use a digi this week.

Love You Bunches!

This card was a challenge and a half for me.  I'm still not happy, but everything is glued on now so there will be no more changing it.  At first I had it done in coral with a layer of black and white polka dots.  I liked the way it looked, but didn't have anything to match the coral.  After I saw Mo's new challenge today, #68 "Lots of Love," lace, ribbon and buttons. I decided to rip the entire card apart and start from scratch.  Fortunately, it came apart relatively easily.  This time, however, I needed to glue alot.  No taking it apart now!  I'm entering it in Mo's chalenge and in the Sunday's with Crissy Challenge "It's All About Love,"  and Digi Doodle shops Challenge #45 Valentines.  Here's the link to their website.  http://digidoodleshopsbest.blogspot.com/
