This is a very strange-named bird, indeed! I bought a set of 40 bird images on Etsy and I am slowly working my way through them. They are not named so I need to do research to figure out what they are. I found the top of this bird's head to be very interesting. It kind of has a corn on the cob look to it, but black. Interesting bird! I colored the image with Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils and pastels.

Oh how I do love your card Diane! The bird is fabulous and so wonderfully coloured. (I know it's a different bird altogether) but I saw a little baby Magpie for the first time ever today and it came so close to me! It's the little creations from Mother nature that make the most special moments! A gorgeous bird image and beautiful card. I have some woodpeckers in these colors in my garden. Wonder if this is how detailed their heads are. I will need to take a closer look at them but they are always so quick to fly away!
