I designed this card for Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge. Below is the inspiration photo. I loved the turquoise color of the birds. I used the pink instead for the flowers. I have no idea what kind of bird this is supposed to be. I purchased a group of digital bird images from Etsy, but none of the birds were named. It appears to be a Common Kingfisher.
I colored the image with Copic markers, Luminance pencils and Pastels, for the sky. I had all of the bird completed when I was coloring the brown branches. All of a sudden I had a tremendous bloop flow from the marker. I lightened it as best I could. Once I got most of the brown off, I realized that there were flowers and leaves in that spot. Coloring them completely covered the bloop. Thank goodness!

A beautifully coloured image, looks rather like a Kingfisher in those colours. You mention the image was in a bundle from Etsy but not if it was a stamp, re-printed etc., we have to be so careful of Copyright Infringement so do need to check?

ReplyDeleteFabulous card, beautiful image and colouring- I thought it was a pre-coloured image until I read your post! How lucky that the 'bloop' could be covered so perfectly, I hate when that happens...why does it always have to be when the colouring is almost finished!!!
