Sunflowers

This card is my mid-month design team entry for A Place to Start. I used an image from Power Poppy. I absolutely love their images. I think I have purchased almost all their digital stamps. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and used mineral spirits for blending. I also used Tim Holtz distressed inks to distress the edge of the paper.The papers are from Stampin' Up. I think it's time to hit their catalog again to see what's new.

For a Sweet Friend

I made this card for a very sweet friend. I am truly having a blast learning how to use my pencils. I can't believe I let them sit there for ten years. My Copics are going to get lonely. This is an image from Aurora Wings. I went on a little digi buying binge recently and she was one of my finds. I just got a new set of Prismacolor Portrait pencils for Mother's Day. They came with directions on how to do skin. I actually started out the skin with a cream and pale yellow. Who would have thought? Anyways, back to business. The paper is from Stampin' Up. The cardstock and ribbon are actually close in color to her dress. You wouldn't know that from the picture.
The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Birthday Flowers

This is my first DT card as a Design Team Member for The Outlawz Festive Friday Challenge. Entries can be made under Birthdays, Get Well, Christmas, Anniversary/Wedding or Anything Goes. The image is by our sponsor, Anne's Digital Art. I colored the image with Copic markers. The papers are from Srampin'Up. I'm actually going to my first Stampin' Up party in years, today. I'm excited to see some old friends. I started out with Stampin' Up. Now I greatly prefer digital images just for the sheer variety that's available.

On the Mend

This is my DT card for QKR Stampede's Friday Anything Goes Challenge. I used their images, Mending Teddy and On the Mend. I colored this with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits. I pieced the background with blue paper scraps. I hold on to almost every scrap. I thought I might as well start using them.

Sunburned Cutie

This is my DT entry for Creations in Pink. The image is by our sponsor A Time for Tea. She is colored with Copics. I called her Sunburned Cutie because I accidentally picked up the wrong marker to color her face. Whoops! What adventures we can have while making cards. I really

did not feel like printing her off again because I had already finished the paper piecing.

So a sunburn it is! I applied a spray glue to the doily and added glitter.

It looks really good, but doesn't show well in the photo.

Peas On Earth

I felt like making a fun quirky Christmas card today. This one fit the bill. I attempted to draw a map on the word earth. The image is from Whimsie Doodles. I colored it with Copics.

Tri-Fold Card

This is the first tri-fold card that I have attempted. I didn't particularly enjoy making this card fold. This image is from Mo's Digital Pencil. I colored it with Copic markers and did a small amount of the shading with Prismacolor pencils. I colored this image a few months ago. I had made them blondes. When I finally decided to use the image I wanted to make brown hair so I re-shaded with a brown pencil. The papers are from Stampin' Up. I used a Spellbinder's die to cut out the image. A Martha Stewart punch was used for the edges.The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley. I put a ribbon around the card to tie it shut.

Li'l Cowboy

Today is a heck of a day. I went to see the surgeon yesterday and he manipulated my knee quite a bit. Boy, is it painful today. A good day to sit and craft. This is one of my favorite Mo's images. Although, to be truthful, there are many, many Mo's images that I consider favorites. I colored the image with Copic markers. My intention was to use pencils again. Ha, not happening. It was a disaster. Sometimes things go right, sometimes they don't!

Angel and Duckling

This is my second attempt using my pencils and mineral spirits. I am enjoying learning something new. This image is by Morgan Fitzsimons. I have quite an extensive collection of her images. I find most of her images quite challenging and I enjoy that. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils. The paper is from K & Company. The first time I attempted this image I ended up putting it in the circular file. I like this one better.

Mother's Day 2019

This is my Mother's Day card for my bio mom. She likes lots of gunk added to her cards, so I usually load them up with flowers and lace. I put so much on this time there is no room left for a sentiment on the front. This is probably the most difficult card for me to make each year. It's basically because I'm just trying to be polite by acknowledging her. Finding an appropriate sentiment is the most difficult part. Oh well, probably too much info. The image is from A Day for Daisies. I colored it with Copics. I thought about not adding flowers, but I accidentally cut off the bottom of her braid so then there was something that needed to be hidden.

It's time for QKR Stampede's Friday, Anything Goes Challenge. This week I used the QKR image Bucking Bronc. I have always looked forward to using this image...now I have. Anyone that knows me knows I absolutely love coloring realistic animals. This one was no exception. I colored the image with Copics. The paper is from American Crafts. I used some twine to make the rope coil.
