Three Cheers

This is one of the latest images from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I fell in love as soon as I saw her.  I grew up on Staten Island in New York City.  Parades were a big thing in our town.  I remember many years of sitting on the curb watching the parades go my.  My favorite part was always the horses, that is until as a teenager I actually got to march in the parades.  There is nothing worse than having to march following a bunch of horses..

The papers and everything else is from my stash.  The flags were kind of plain so I got daring and printed letters on them.  I hate writing on the fronts of cards.  I usually just don't like the way it looks.  It didn't turn out too bad this time.

For Julie and Ernie

This is my first entry for the design team for Totally Stampalicious.  I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with this wonderful team. The challenge this week is "Get Your Giggle On."  The image I chose is Gus-Hunter.  He's available here at the Totally Stampalicious store.

As soon as I saw this image I instantly wanted to make it for some friends, Julie and Ernie.  Ernie loves hunting.  He goes away for a couple of weeks during the year to hunt for elk and deer.  This card suits them to a tee.  Julie is indeed patient.  I'll save this until next hunting season and give it to Ernie with a BIG bag of sunflower seeds (his favorite snack to take hunting.).

I showed my husband, a non-hunter, the card.  He doesn't get the humor.  Of well!

I colored this with Copics.  The paper is from Karen Hunter Design.  It's actually a camping paper.  I tried to cover up the obvious references to camping, but don't tell.

Copics:  B0000, C00, C0, C1, C3, C5, 100, E000, E00, E11, E18, E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, G09, G82, G85, G94, R02, R11, R20, YR07, YR09

Birthday Fairy

This image was created by Morgan Fitzsimons and it's available at Scrapbook Stamp Society.  I saw someone do a really lovely job on a mermaid's tail the other day and it made me really want to try the effect she used.  Thank you, for the inspiration, Carole.

I colored this with Copic markers.  I used Stickles on the flower centers and coated the wings with Glamour Dust and a tiny bit of blue glitter to add a little boost.

The beautiful ribbon is hand dyed pure silk from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I'm very frugal with that.  It was a tad pricey.  The papers are digi papers from Bearly Mine Designs.  They are running a great sale right now.

I don't recall who the die is from.  Of course, I've gotten rid of the packaging.

A Stitch in Time

I couldn't sleep tonight so I decided to get up and work on a card.  I had a squamous cell carcinoma removed from my right arm today.  They took a really good sized chunk so now it's aching a bit.  I guess the stuff they used to numb it wore off.   May have to hit up the pain reliever.

I was in the mood for a really girly card with  lots of lace and flowers.  This card met the idea.

The image is from Elizabeth Bell.  The papers are from Bearly Mine Designs.  I recently visited their site for the first time.  I can see this is going to cost me some money.  They have lots of gorgeous digi papers.  The one I chose for this card has faux stitching on it.  I was really attracted to the pretty pastels.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts; I edged them all with stickles  The ribbon and lace are from good old Walmart.  I left the inside rather plain.  Mainly because I was aching more and just wanted to get done.  Maybe tomorrow I will go and add something to it.  I colored it with Copics

Future Sailors

These images are from a relatively new set offered by Mo's Digital Pencil.  It also inclues another sailor boy hugging his bear.  I finally learned how to merge images.  The trick will be to remember how I did it next time I need to.  I colored this ith Copics.

I'm finally back in card making mode.  For about two months I made very few cards.  I was feeling quite non-artistic.  Fortunately, I got my mojo back and feel like crafting again.  This is my third card in three days.

Mandarin Duck

This image is from Delicious Doodles.  I've had it a long time and never got around to using it.  I researched the coloring of a mandarin duck, although, I did take a few liberties with their placement.  I was amazed at how beautiful these animals are.  I initially bought the digi without knowing what the duck actually looked like.  Their coloring is just amazing, such bright colors.

I colored this image with Copic markers.  The paper is from Stampin' Up.

For Nurse Sharla

This card is for our school nurse's birthday.  We're celebrating it a bit early, before school gets out next week.  The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I've had it for quite a while, but have been waiting for an occasion to make a card for Sharla.

The papers are from Stampin' Up and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I colored her with Copics.

Welcome Little One

I made this card at a friends request.  Although, it is nothing like what she asked for!  She wanted a baby shower card with a frog done in greens and browns.  I spent an hour online looking for a cute frog.  I just couldn't find one I liked, but I did find this image at Cuddly Buddy Crafts.  If she doesn't like it I guess I'll keep it for myself.

I colored it with Copics, of course.

CMS Stempunk Blog Hop

Hi, and welcome to our first ever blog hop.  There's wonderful news!  Everyone that finishes the blog hop will win a complete set of Steampunk digis.  One lucky hopper will win a set of 12 Copic  Sketch markers in the new colors..

Here's the deal:  Each blog in the hop will reveal a letter.  Leave a comment on each blog and collect the letter.  After you  collect all the letters e-mail the secret word to Colleen at hurricaneheron@gmail.com. That's all there is to it.

My letter is "A"

You should have gotten here from "Stamping with Bekah."  Next stop on the hop is Deez Creative Design.  If you miss any blogs on the hop you can go to Making Our Mark for a complete list of sites.

I colored both pictures with Copic markers.  I wanted something a little more colorful than the traditional steampunk look.  I kept the same color scheme through both cards.  It was easier than putting the markers away and starting over.  The embellishments as well at the tickets are from Tim Holtz.

Copics:  BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18, BG72, BG75, C00, C0, C1, C2, C3, C5, E09, E11, E13, E30, E31, E33, E34, E35, E37, R24, R39, YG61, YG63,  YR24, YR30, YR31, 100

The hop ends at midnight EST on Sunday.  Have fun and enjoy the hop.  Good luck in the drawing for the markers!

Slugger

Don't you just love this sad little chap.  He is from Digi Doodle Shop  available here.  I colored him with Copics and all the papers are from my stash.  Unfortunately, I don't usually keep track of who manufactures the papers.  I am pretty pleased with how the inside of this card turned out. I used a new combo of colors I found on Pinterest for the skin.  It just doesn't work for me.  I'll be switching back.

Happy Easter

I love this image from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I got her last Easter, but never used her.  I decided to try a different fold.  I'm not sure if I did it correctly or not.  It's a angled easel card.  I colored this with Copics.  All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The papers are from the Miss Caroline collection by My Mind's Eye.  These particular papers are from a Designer Paper Pad called Howdy Doody.

This took a lot of Copics:
