Wolf in Pencils

It's time for the April challenge at Morgan's ArtWorld Challenge Blog.  I chose this image from a set of wolves available here:  https://creativeartdesignstudio.ecwid.com/Wolf-Set...

I colored the image with a variety of pencils.  The paper is one of my favorite from Hobby Lobby.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Here are my two cards for the April Challenge theme, Peace.  Both images are from Power Poppy.  I colored them with Copic markers.

Birthday Dragon

This  cute little dragon is by Morgan Fitzsimons.  It is available at:  https://creativeartdesignstudio.ecwid.com/Dragon-Babies...

It is my Creative Team entry in the March Challenge at Morgan's Artworld Challenge Blog.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  The papers are from Stampin' Up.  My grandson Ethan, who is turning seven saw this on my desk when I had just finished it up.  He was reallt excited and asked "Is that for my birthday?  I love it!"  Well you can guess what I had to do...make another.  The original is for my brother-in-law. Please come on over and join the challenge!

Christmas Card Challenge Fenruary 2022

Here are my entries for the February  Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  Thhe theme for February is candles.  This image is by Lily of the Valley.  I colored it with pencils.  I made the poinsettias with Spellbinder's Glimmer System.

I used an image from Sheepski Designs for this card.  It is colored with pencils.

I used pencils and pastels for this card.  This image is also by Lily of the Valley.

Magical Mermaid

A new challenge starts today at Morgan's Art World Challenge Blog.  I chose the image Magical Mermaid.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils, which reminded me of why I stopped using the.  They do have the best color range around for pencils.   I believe I have 150 with the newest colors added.  Their downfall is how easily they break when sharpening.  Almost every time I sharpen one the point falls out.  I like to have my pencils very sharp to work with and I have such a difficult time getting them sharp without breaking.  Two of my other three sets hold a point extremely well, but have no where near the color range.  I also used a white pen marker to color in the white on the waves and the beads or flowers (whatever they are) on her headpiece.  This was my first try at coloring water.  I think I will give it another try soon.  They netting I found at Hobby Lobby a few tears ago.  It seems to go well with mermaid pictures.

Hearts

I am guest designing this week for The Outlawz Sunday Songs and Rhymes Challenge.  The heart poem was provided as inspiration.  I thought for something different I would put the poem on the front of the card with the image.  The image was provided by LeighSBDesigns.  I colored what there was to color with pencils.  The paper is from Stampin' Up.  It was a very simple card to make, but I think it turned out pretty.

Wreath of Fruit

This is my final entry for the January Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  The January Challenge was to make wreaths.  This wreath was from Isabella's Sketchbook which I think is no longer in existence.  I colored this image with Copic markers.  The sentiment is by Lily of the Valley.  This is by far my favorite wreath.  I make a card with it once every year.

Christmas Wreath

This is my first Christmas card for 2022.  The new Christmas challenge at Splitcoast Stampers has started up again  I have committed to two cards per month.  It's quite a fun group if you are looking to get your cards done a little sooner this year.  January's theme is wreaths.

I chose an image from my collection of Power Poppy digis.  I have not used this one before.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I surrounded it with a light brown pastel.  The difference between the green of the wreath and the white background seemed a little too stark. The brown eased the transition.  I used a crushed red paper that I absolutely love.  I bought it in several colors from Hobby Lobby about a year ago.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Firefly

Time for a new challenge at  Morgan's Art World Challenge Blog.  As always, it's Anything Goes.  I chose the image Firefly Grayscale.  The background flowers were added by Sherri who graciously shared them with me.  I colored the image with Polychromos and Luminance pencils.  I used some pastels to give a little color to the background.

Logan's First Christmas

This image looks so much like our newest little grandson, Logan.

I had to include him on our Christmas card list.  This image is by Mo's Digital Pencil.  I had the female version already, but fortunately Mo still had the male version in her retiring images. I colored it with Copic markers.  I haven't been using my markers in a while. I'm having lots of difficulty staying in the lines.  I think it's a combo of bad eyesight and arthritis in my hands.  Oh well, getting old sucks!  I found this train paper in my stash.  I don't even remember buying it.  It fit the bill perfectly on this card.

Here is the inside of the card.

Teddy Bear Christmas

Today starts the December  challenge at Morgan's Art World Challenge Blog.  As always, it's Anything Goes.  I chose this really cute and detailed, image,  Teddy Bear Christmas.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils.  The paper is from Stampin' Up.  I bought the flowers at Hobby Lobby.  I used Stickles on the snow, candles and fur on Santa Bear's suit.  It doesn't show up very well in the photography.  I love the old fashioned wall paper in the scene.  It reminds me of my grandma's house when I was growing up.
